David Bernsen established Carondelet Farm in the early 1990's in Ramona, California near San Diego after purchased the property from the Estate of the legendary actor Jimmy Cagney. A complete rennovation was conducted which included maintaining the look and feel from the 1950's when the Cagney family used the the property as their base when attending the racing at Del Mar. The property was home to Raging Aplachee, the dam of the American Champion Sprinter ARTAX. In 1998, Mr. Bernsen relocated his breeding operation to Kentucky and in 1999 embarked on an aambitious business venture to connect the Austalian and American racing, breeding and wagering industries. After serving the North American Representative for Racing Victoria (Melbourne), Mr. Bernsen is currently the USA Representative Magic Millions Sales Pty Ltd, the leading sales company in the Southern Hemisphere. Carondelet Farm has bred or owned a variety of Graded and Group winners including the aforementioned ARTAX, Gr1 winner HONOR IN WAR, Irish Derby runner-up ALEXANDER OF HALES who is currently in-training in Australia along with French Group Stakes-winner SET ALIGHT. In addltion, Carondelet Farm has been instrumental in bringing a number of stallions to Australia from the North Hemiphere including ARTIE SCHILLER. |
